AP Credit
There are two different AP Physics Exams. Students with a 5 on the AP Physics B exam will receive credit for PC141 and PC142. The AP Physics C exam consists of both a Mechanics and an Electricity and Magnetism test. Students receiving a 5 on the Mechanics portion will receive 1 unit of credit and can skip PC241. Students receiving a 5 on both portions will receive 2 units of credit but must ask for approval from a faculty member before skipping PC242 and enrolling in PC251. It has been found that even well-prepared students who skip PC242 have difficulty in PC251. Students with a 4 on any of the exams will still receive credit but will not be allowed to skip the analogous course.
