Student Led Ensembles
The department offers academic support, rehearsal space, and credit for students interested in starting their own ensembles. These ensembles can be entirely student led and operated, taylored to the interests of the students involved. To gain credit, ensembles must receive coaching from a member of the performance faculty on an infrequent basis and perform on a department recital event.
In the past there have been such student led ensembles as: woodwind quintet, string trio, jazz combo, clarinet quintet, clarinet trio, Balinese Gender Wayang quartet, acapella groups (mixed, all male and all female), to name a few.
If you have any questions about how to get a student group sponsored please direct your questions to the music department coordinator in Packard office 118.
