Inside/Out Youth Services

Inside/Out Youth is the sole LGBTIQ youth organization in the Colorado Springs area. Inside/Out emphasizes a broad range of support services and programs for youth between the ages of 13-22 including support groups, peer counseling, safe recreation activities, community referrals, HIV/STD prevention education, community education and advocacy, and youth leadership.

Colorado Springs Pride Center

The work of the Pride Center is based upon a 2004 Needs Assessment and General Survey in which more than 300 community members identified the Center's major priorities: advocate for GLBT interests in the media, in policy and in local government; provide resources and direct service referrals to LGBT people and their supporters; promote a sense of community through events and collaborations; provide for social and support groups; and promote the health and well-being of LGBT people. 

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's mission is to build the grassroots power of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community. The task force works to train activists, equip state and local organizations with the tools to  defeat anti-LGBT referenda and advance pro-LGBT legislation, and advance the organizational capacity of the LGBT movement. Human Rights Campaign (HRC)

The Human Rights Campaign is America 's largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. The HRC website provides information on educational and media outreach as well as publications on topics ranging from coming out to the legal and political issues facing LGBT communities. 

Lambda Legal

Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of LGBT people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. 

Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC)

Gender PAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities, and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn grow and succeed - whether or not they meet expectations of masculinity and femininity, and regardless of their gender identity or expression. As a human rights organization, GenderPAC also promotes and understanding of the connection between discrimination based on gender stereotypes and sex, sexual orientation, age, race, and class.

This site has a variety or resource relating to gender and transgender identity. FREE podcasts to download or listen to through streaming audio on many topics relating to gender and sexual orientation.

NCTE is a national social justice organization devoted to ending discrimination and violence against transgender people through education and advocacy on national issues of importance to transgender people. The website contains information on trans issues in healthcare, legal systems, legislation, hate crimes, homelessness, immigration, marriage, and travel.

Trans-Academics.Org

Trans-Academics.org is a place where people of all genders can discuss gender theory, the trans community and its various identities, both as a part of the academic world and day-to-day life. Trans-Academics.org is especially interested in supporting people who are considering or currently are working with trans related topics via research, writing, teaching, and other academic ventures.  

Isle of Lesbos

The Isle of Lesbos site (sappho.com) is intended to serve as a place of art and culture for women-oriented women, offering a historical glimpse into lesbian lives and vintage views of affection between women. Sappho.com is maintained as a service to the lesbian and bisexual community.

Queers United

Queers United is the blog uniting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersexual, & Asexual communities in an effort of education and activism on issues of importance to sexual/gender minorities. And Justice for All (AJA) was founded in mid-1995 to fight for equality for everyone without regard to sexual orientation. AJA seeks to achieve this goal by increasing the visibility and participation of heterosexuals in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights movement.
