This course combines an introductory level exploration of three-dimensional design with a special focus on architecture, with an enormous emphasis on exploration. In this class, students will come to understand the process of developing solutions that integrate functional demands (how things work) with aesthetics (how things look), and how to communicate one's ideas in a succinct, coherent, and engaging manner. The course will hopefully challenge those interested in professional careers in design, but it is also aimed at students with other plans, or no plans. A multitude of topics pertaining to integrated thinking will be addressed in a manner that will translate into a plethora of real world situations well beyond the practice of architecture.
