Emphasis on the reactions of key organic functional groups along with spectroscopy (NMR, IR, GC/MS) and molecular structure. Introduction to polyfunctional compounds and organic synthesis. Organic chemistry of carbohydrates, amino acids, peptides and proteins. Laboratory included.
