This class will examine the brain at an in-depth level--including a “hands-on” experience with actual human tissue. The effects environmental influences pose to the brain will be studied, especially in terms of education, leading to a deeper understanding of the human condition. A variety of material pertaining to the brain will be read which will pave the way for philosophical discourse. Discussion regarding the purpose of education, education’s shortcomings, and whether an objective reality really exists are just a handful of the discussion topics that will be addressed.
