The Basics...
All ultimate frisbee games are played on the Autry Field. League play is organized
in accordance with a round robin format scheduling each team to play in an equal
number of competitions. Final season rankings will be determined by 1) winning percentage, 2) head to head play, 3) number of forfeits, and/or, 4) a playoff
game. The top teams will advance to a single elimination tournament to determine
the overall league champion. All members of the winning team will receive IM
Champion t-shirts.
General organizational rules include the following: The playing field consists
of seven vs. seven with 2 members of the under-represented sex on the field
at all times. The game consists of two 20-minute running halves with stopped
time in the last two minutes of the second half. In the event of a tie after
regulation time, a 10 minute overtime will be initiated. In the event of a tie
after overtime, a 5-minute sudden-death period will be initiated.
General playing rules include the following: No physical contact is allowed
between players. Picks and screens are prohibited. Players are responsible for
their own foul and line calls. Substitutions may be made during an injury timeout
and after scoring. All Ultimate Frisbee rules may be found in the IM Rules folder.
Ultimate stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged,
but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules,
and basic joy of play. If unsportsmanlike behavior persists, a warning will
be issued. If a second offense occurs, the player will be ejected from the game
and prohibited from playing in the next TWO scheduled games.
