Adult Coed Novice and Intermediate Leagues
at Colorado College
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get on a team?
First, determine what level at which you skate. The league is broken down into novice level and intermediate level. The novice league is meant for those who have little experience at skating or have limited hockey skills. The intermediate league is aimed towards those individuals that have somewhat developed their skills and skate at a higher level. Most of the participants that play in the intermediate league are relatively young and have played very little competitive hockey. Also, there are older players and have developed hockey skills but don’t care to compete at a high level with much younger players anymore.
Second, email us at gluther@coloradocollege.edu and let us know your intent to play. Your email address will be added to the address book and when the notice is sent out for sign up for the next session, simply reply to the email and you will be added to the roster list. The players that played in the prior session have first chance to reserve a slot in the upcoming session. After that, we add new players to the remaining spots. The number of teams are limited so if there are too many players, the new players are put on a waiting list.
What nights and hours does the league play?
The Monday Night Intermediate League plays its games at 6:45, 8:00 and 9:15 pm. There is also a separate Intermediate League which plays on Thursday nights. The games on that night can be at 5:30, 6:45, 8:00 and 9:15 pm.
The novice league also plays on Thursday nights and the games can be at 5:30, 6:45, 8:00 and 9:15 pm. There are two novice games and two intermediate games on Thursdays and the start times are alternated each week. The novice plays the first two hours on one week and then plays the last two hours the next.
How long is a session and how much are league fees?
The sessions consist of six games so the session runs approximately 6 or 7 weeks. The cost for a session is $75 plus there is a $20 deposit for the team jersey.
