You can schedule appointments online through our home page. Just follow the directions on the login screen and then pick a date and time to come in. If you have any trouble, don't hesitate to contact us at 719-389-6742.

Appointments are typically 30 minutes, but you can schedule an appointment for an hour if you need more time.

Scheduling with Our Professional Staff

The Writing Center has four professional staff members available to assist writers with specific needs. To schedule an appointment with Tracy Santa, Molly Gross, Carol Emmer, or Danita Stewart please call x6742. They can work with any writer, but they make certain kinds of writers a priority in their schedules. See below for some brief descriptions.

Tracy Santa, Director

Please call x6742 to set up an appointment with Tracy.

Molly Gross, Assistant Director

Molly mostly works with students who feel they need more consistent help with the writing process: struggling writers, thesis writers, students with learning disabilities, and students who experience anxiety in writing. She also helps students conquer their apprehensions and insecurities with the writing process. Writers who most benefit from Molly's help are those who like “repeat performance” tutoring, that is, students who prefer continuity or a set schedule for appointments or those who want to see the same tutor over and again. After five years as a professional tutor for the Writing Center, Molly has extensive experience with many forms of academic writing, thesis writing, grant writing, grad school applications, and resumes. Like the student writing consultants, Molly works with writers at any stage in the writing process.

Carol Emmer, English as a Second Language Instructor

Carol Emmer is our ESL specialist and instructor for the ESL adjunct courses. She has over twenty years of experience teaching English as a Second Language to non-native speakers. Although her specialty is working with students who speak English as a second language, she is also available to assist thesis writers and writers who need more consistent help with the writing process.

Danita Stewart, Professional Tutor

Danita Stewart is a recent graduate of Colorado College and earned her Master Tutor level of certification from the College Reading & Learning Association during her time working at the Writing Center as a student. Like Molly Gross, Danita is available to work with students who feel they need more consistent help with the writing process: struggling writers, thesis writers, students with learning disabilities, and students who experience anxiety in writing.
