GS 107 1610 The language components will consist of clasrrom learning of the Wolof language structure, strengthened by the students direct and total immersion within the socio-cultural Wolof/francophone milieu while living with selected host-families. Emphasis will be placed on student's involvement in various class activities which will take the form of sentence-making, mini dialogue, translation, dictation, class discussions, trips, workshops, etc. In addition, there will be many activities centered on the cultural aspects about the Wolof-speaking people, the Francophone speaking populations and their cultures and subcultures. Program fee (in addition to tuition): $3,900 includes lodging, most meals, course related activities, and transportation in Senegal. Does not include airfare.
