Topics in Oral Chinese Language and Culture (in China)

1 CC unit (4 semester hours). 1 unit of language credit. 1 unit of humanities credit.

This course builds on the language progress made in Intermediate Chinese and emphasizes increased application of the speaking and listening in order to build oral proficiency. This course will provide students an opportunity to practice their language skill with Chinese people outside the classroom, and to study Chinese culture in four major Chinese cities: Shanghai, Beijing, Luayang and Xi'an, where explorations of culture and daily life will be an integral component of the course.

Program Fee (in addition to tuition): $1,100 includes lodging, most meals, course-related activities, and transportation in China. Does not include airfare. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due upon enrollment for the course. Colorado College students may apply for Intercultural Funds and funds through the Asian Studies Program.
Prerequisites: Consent of instructor and CN 201 or equivalent (e-mail hjiang@ColoradoCollege.edu). Enrollment is limited to 12 students.
