What is the Block Plan?
One distinctive feature of Colorado College is our calendar format, formally known as the Block Plan, which is celebrating 37 years at Colorado College. This one-course-at-a-time system takes place year around, not only in the summertime. During the summer, students focus on one subject at a time for three weeks. This system encourages seminar-style interdisciplinary teaching. Our professors are quite familiar with this schedule; they are experts at teaching courses under the block system and devoting their full attention to each class, covering extensive course material in three weeks. In one block at Colorado College you'll be absorbing, learning, exploring - not cramming - without juggling other classes at the same time. Whether you're on campus, traveling in the Rocky Mountains, or visiting another country, with each block this summer, you'll be learning and discussing ideas with a handful of other students like never before. |
