Tackling Health Reform: Bridging the Divide from Individual Problem to Shared Solution
Thursday, June 18th, 5 - 8pm
Morreale Carriage House, 1130 North Cascade Avenue
Cost: $55 (includes a buffet dinner)

What do we need to know about healthcare reform? What are the current costs, and what are the benefits of reform? Is there consensus around reform? What do people agree on and why? In this presentation and facilitated discussion, attendees learn about some key statewide and national healthcare concepts and reform issues. The research presented comes from a joint project of the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative and the Colorado Center on Law and Policy, and is funded by a national grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The goal of the project, entitled "Spotlight on Healthcare," is to engage ordinary consumers in the healthcare reform debate, and to the principles, goals, and ideas that an informed public requires to be ready to tackle healthcare reform in Colorado. "Spotlight on Healthcare" aims to give attendees a vocabulary with which to talk about our complex system and the various ideas being discussed to improve it.

Elizabeth Feder is the health policy analyst for the Colorado Center on Law and Policy. Elizabeth joined the Colorado Center on Law and Policy in January 2007. She has a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and prior to joining CCLP taught the history of medicine, public health, and health policy, among other subjects, at Colorado College.
