MISSION STATEMENT

The Senior Year Experience (SYE) facilitates and supports each senior’s transition from Colorado College to the next phase of their life. Designed with the diverse and unique needs of seniors in mind, SYE offers academic, professional, financial, psychological, and pragmatic information and resources to seniors. In much the same manner that the FYE program orients first-years academically and socially, the SYE program equips seniors with important tools and knowledge necessary for success after graduation. The SYE program is indebted to inter-College cooperation and communication, as well as administration, staff, and alumni support.

The Senior Year Experience and The Colorado College

The SYE program is integral to the success of Colorado College and its students. Its multi-faceted nature benefits all those involved. The SYE program is also an essential feature of Alumni Relations. SYE enhances the student experience at the Colorado College, thereby improving alumni satisfaction and participation. SYE transcends the traditional boundaries between the disparate departments of the college and between academic and social life. In addition to providing numerous opportunities for intra-College collaboration, SYE provides support and tools to students during a crucial transition from college through commencement. The program fosters personal and intellectual relationships between staff, faculty, students, alumni, and community members. These relationships generate enriching professional and academic opportunities for current students. In short, the SYE program works on a variety of levels to benefit the Colorado College and all CC community members.
