Politics in Literature. No
literature in the world has as close a relationship to politics as does modern
Chinese literature. In this course, we will read political and literary stories
and essays from the May Fourth Era of the early twentieth century to the present
era of economic reform and integration into the global community in order to
examine how Chinese literature reflects political change and how politics
