Book Approval Book Loads

Setting Defaults

From the main menu of the Innopac system
  1. A > ADDITIONAL system functions
  2. A > ALTER system parameters
  3. D > DEFAULTS for new records
  4. B > BIBLIOGRAPHIC record
  5. 17 > nyt : NYT best (This option discription will vary on Innopac systems)
  6. Change the default table as needed

Loading the Data


From the main III menu

  1. A > ADDITIONAL system functions
  2. M > Read/write MARC records
  3. O > Load OCLC BIB records from FTS
  4. F > READ MARC records into Innopac using FTS

    Enter name of file _______Press the <Enter> Key

  5. 2 > [Enter the IP address of your book vendor's FTP site]

    Username: [provided by your book vendor]

    Password: [provided by your book vendor

  6. + > ADDITIONAL options

  7. A > ADJUST screen display


    Enter the number of the file(s) you wish to transfer.

  8. T > TRANSFER files

    A box will appear with for each file selected:

    GET FILE
    Enter name of local file
    [file from FTP site].fil ==> [file from ftp site].fil.ofts

  9. <Enter>

    Another box appears

    200 PORT command okay.
    150 Opening data connection for m0024501.fil
    162.174.121.21,1844).
    226 Transfer complete.
    1002 bytes received in 0.04 seconds (22.83 Kbytes/s)

  10. C > CONTINUE
  11. Q > QUIT
  12. Press <SPACE> to continue
  13. P > PREPROCESS records loaded via FTS
  14. 1 > [file from FTP site].fil.ofts (select the file number to be preprocessed)
  15. Press <SPACE> to continue
  16. L > LOAD an OCLC file

    Enter file number (1-2) _1 (select the file number to be loaded)

  17. Option T > Loading mode ( load the file in test) will change to T > TESTING mode
  18. 1 > [file from FTP site].fil.oclc
  19. L > LOAD records
  20. Press <SPACE> to continue

    Note - It is possible to load selected records by noting the block number (either from the test load or viewing a file, selecting the number of records to load, and selecting the block start option.
  21. Q > QUIT
  22. Press <SPACE> to continue
  23. Q > QUIT
