Ebsco Academic Search 1988 to present. Start here! Indexes popular and scholarly sources.. Many full text articles including Economist.
Periodicals Abstracts 1987- Some overlap with Ebsco.  Some fulltext articles. 
EconLit 1969- Indexes the most scholarly literature in the field of economics including journals, books, and conference proceedings. Published by the American Economics Association. Some fulltext.
PAIS 1972- Index to articles, books and major government documents in the fields of political science, public affairs, economics and international relations. Some fulltext.
ABI Inform 1971- Index to economics and business magazines and journals. Many fulltext articles included.
JStor  late 1800's - most recent 3-5 years All full  text archival access to many scholarly periodicals. An excellent source for early issues of the major academic journals in economics, political science and history. Includes 14 important economics journals. JStor does not cover the most recent 3-5 years of any journal.
Country Reports and Profiles (Economist/EIU) 1996- Current economic and political analysis for 126 countries. Excellent data.

World Development Indicators (World Bank)
500 time-series indicators for 210 economies plus regional and income groups. Retrievable data in spreadsheet format, display maps and graphs, and export data.

International Financial Statistics (IMF)
Provides users with time series which summarize each country's balance of payments, with collateral data on its principal components (trade and reserves), and data on the principal cause and effect elements (monetary expansion and contraction, government surpluses and deficits, production, prices and interest rates)
