Other Scholarships and Grants for Study Abroad
- Adell and Hancock - Provides one student going to school in the Rocky Mountain region with an award of $2,400. Open to international students currently studying at a U.S. university or U.S. students engaging in a study abroad program during the next academic year.
- Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Scholarship Program - For undergraduates studying in Japan. Stipends are $2,500 for semester programs and $4,000 for year long programs.
- Beinecke Brothers Memorial Scholarship - For juniors interested in graduate school in the humanities and social sciences.

- Benjamin A. Gilman - Provides awards for study abroad to students with high financial need; applicants must be receiving a Pell grant.
- The Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation Grant & Coit Family Scholarship Funds - The primary goal of these funds are to support CC students with high financial need, usually a Pell Grant recipient, for additional costs incurred while studying abroad on an ACM or CC Affiliated course of study during the academic year or during the Summer Session. Costs for non-affiliated, approved study abroad programs will not be considered. Administered through the CC Financial Aid Office, applications here:
Summer or Academic Year
- Consular Corps of Colorado Scholarship - Scholarships available to students studying abroad who want to pursue a degree in international relations and who are matriculating at an institution in Colorado. Preference given to graduate students, but undergraduates may apply.
- DAAD German Academic Exchange Service - Support for students studying, doing senior thesis research or completing an internship in Germany.
- David L. Boren National Security Education Program (NSEP) - Awards scholarships to American students for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests. Scholarship recipients incur a service requirement.
- FastWeb Scholarship Search - Provides free customized scholarship search after user fills out profile. Email updates on scholarships are then provided based on the profile.
- FinAid! (National Association of Financial Aid Administrators) - Website of the main U.S. professional association for financial aid administrators provides scholarship searches and extensive information about financial aid.
- Foundation for Asia Pacific Education - A Denver-based organization that gives scholarships in amounts ranging from $500-$3500 to study abroad in certain Asian countries.
- Humanity in Action - Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in exploring issues of human rights and majority and minority relations in Denmark, the Netherlands and the United States.

- International Education Financial Aid (IEFA) - Website provides free searches for scholarships for study abroad.
- International Education Finance Corporation - Provides loans to students studying abroad.
- Selig Fund for Global Study - Awards grants up to $1200 to help fund the study abroad experience for CC students. E-Submission due to the Office of International Programs by December 1 for Spring semester programs, or by May 1 for Fall semester programs.
- Independent Study Research in Asian Area Studies- The Gaylord prize has been made possible by the Gaylord Endowment for support of scholarly development in Asian Area Studies.
- REACH Network scholarship for study abroad: Reach Network, a publisher of education-based resources, recently created a scholarship. The award is for $2000, and a new scholarship is posted immediately after the current scholarship closes (approximately every three months). The scholarship is based on innovation and reasoning.
A few additional suggestions:
- Be sure to ask about any scholarships directly offered by your program sponsor.
- Check out Tutt Library's collection of books on funding for international travel.
- Some academic departments at CC provide special grants for short-term research or study abroad. Ask around!
- Some corporations give scholarships for dependents (inquire where your parents work).
Don't forget to meet with the financial aid office to determine how your financial aid will transfer to your study abroad program.
