We remain committed to the philosophy that cost should not deter a student from considering Colorado College. The college administers a substantial financial aid program and uses financial need as the primary consideration in awarding aid. There is, however, a limited amount of financial aid available for non-U.S. citizens and transfer students. A financial aid award usually includes a combination of grants, federal loans (for U.S. citizens and permanent residents only), and possible work-study earnings. While the majority of college aid is need-based, we do offer some merit-based scholarships as well. These include the Barnes Scholarships, the El Pomar Fellowship, the Trustee Scholarships, Leadership Scholarships, the Boettcher Scholarships, CC Scholars, Presidential Scholarships, and the National Merit Finalist Scholarships. Only two merit-based scholarships require a seperate application(the Barnes Scholarship & the El Pomar Fellowship); the remainder of the merit-based scholarship recipients are selected by the Admission Committee based on the academic talent and potential contributions of the student. Others, such as the Boettcher and National Merit Scholarship are administered by the Boettcher Foundation and National Merit Scholarship organizations, respectively. There are also scholarships available through our two NCAA Division I athletic programs — women’s soccer and men’s ice hockey. Please contact the financial aid office at the numbers provided below for further details. We require the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS PROFILE form . All students applying for need-based financial aid should complete these two forms. We also require signed student and parent Federal tax forms, parent W-2 forms, and a non-custodial parent statement (if applicable). Please see the Financial Aid Priority Dates and Timeline page for detailed information. Non-U.S. citizens applying for aid must fill out the International Student Financial Aid Application. See http://www.coloradocollege.edu/admission/intl/ for information. We encourage all students and parents to read the Financial Aid Policies Handbook This handbook includes the cost of attendance, an explanation of the methods used to determine your eligibility for aid, the steps necessary to apply for Stafford loans, information on alternative financing options and much more. |
