Current Interests
During the 2002-03 academic year I spent my sabbatical leave in travel and research on indigenous religious traditions, including visits to Native American communities. As a result of that work, I developed the advanced course on shamanism in multiple forms. Recent travels took me to India and in the fall of 2006 I was engaged in the planning and presentation of our college-wide symposium: "Religion and Public Life: Why Be Afraid?"
