Science Program for Elementary School Children(Children entering grades 1 - 6)

Do you love science? Do you wonder how the world works? Do you like to spend your free time exploring the mysteries of nature? Then Whiz Bang Science is for you!

Whiz Bang Science: Patterns, Systems, Connections is a two-week morning summer class for elementary students who are interested in science.

This program features hands-on exploratory science activities focusing on the themes of patterns, systems, and connections. Students will be given the opportunity to develop science process skills through a variety of scientific investigations. The staff consists of: Mike Taber, Faculty Director, Cheryl Kammerer, Co-Director, and a number of experienced classroom teachers from local schools. These mentors are experts in science education. They will guide the elementary Master of Arts in Teaching students at Colorado College in planning lessons and instructing small groups of children. The pupil-to-teacher ratio is intentionally kept low, encouraging individual exploration and small group interaction.
