This course will be taught by Prof. Walt Hecox and Adjunct Professor Bruce Byers. Professor Hecox teaches international economics as well as courses focused on sustainable development and has extensive experience working in and consulting about Africa. Professor Byers, 1997 Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor at the Center for Applied Social Sciences, University of Zimbabwe, has extensive teaching experience, serves as a consultant on conservation and environment management for groups which include UNESCO, UN Environment Programme, US AID/Namibia, The Nature Conservancy, and the World Wildlife Fund; he also served as a AAAS Science and Diplomacy Fellow as an Environmental and Biodiversity Conservation Advisor to US AID/Washington.
