Project

You will work in groups, as specified below, towards a project with two outcomes:

1.  A "Case in Point" article ( As with the "Cases in Point" in the text, the length is likely to vary from about 500 to 1000 words.)

2.  A 10- to 12-minute Powerpoint presentation explaining your article (David Preston, the economics paraprof, is available to help with your Powerpoint presentation, if necessary. Any graphs or tables you may wish to include should use your experience with Excel.)

The topic of the "Case in Point"  and its related presentation must be related to market structure or factor markets. These are the topics covered in Chapters 9 through 13 and Chapter 16 of the text. The project should cover a real-world situation and explain how it relates theoretically to some aspect of the economic analysis of market structure or factor markets.

Topic Due: Friday, February  9 at 9:00 (If you would like advice on whether your topic is a good one or not for this assignment, on how to cover your topic, or on choosing a topic, please arrange to talk to me during a class break or before or after class.)

Project due: Monday, February 12. By lottery, half of the groups will present on Monday, February 12 and half on Tuesday, February 13. The written "Case in Point" is due on Monday.
