Tamara Bentley is the Luce Assitant Professor of Asian Art in the Art Department. She teaches broadly in the arts of India, China, and Japan. Her research centers on late Ming Chinese print culture, particularly playing cards. She has also been interested in the complex cultural encounters made possible through early modern trade. She recieved her Ph.D. in Asian Art from the University of Michigan in winter 2000.
