Coburn Gallery and Other Exhibition Spaces

Coburn Gallery, located in the Worner Campus Center, serves as the College’s Gallery for exhibitions by professional artists. Shows selected for Coburn Gallery are based on particular courses being taught, visiting artists, alumni, or topics of special interest to a liberal arts community. In these ways it distinguishes itself from other exhibition spaces in the region. At the end of each academic year, a group show of work done by senior studio majors is installed in the Gallery, and a reception is held at graduation for these students, their families and friends.

Students exhibit their work at a variety of other venues on campus. These would include spaces in Packard Hall, Cossitt Hall, Tutt Library, Olin Science Center, Armstrong Hall, and an experimental gallery located in an old electrical warehouse. Occasionally, students find nearby off-campus locations for their thesis shows, particularly when their work is not suited to formal institutional spaces.
