The "Venus" of  Willendorf The model of an informative and well-composed web site by Professor Christopher Witcombe, Sweet Briar College.
Step Pyramid of King Zoser An informative site that allows you to move around in Zoser's pyramid complex.  From the University of Pennsylvania
Exploring Ancient World Cultures A comprehensive site with links to thousands of images from Egypt, Greece, Rome etc. 
The Perseus Project A massive archive of Greek monuments.  It contains over 30,000 pictures.  One can search for words, sites, monuments.  An even more detailed version is on CD Rom in the Keck Lab. 
RomanSites This site has indexed, summarized and rated more than 2,000 web sites that include information about Roman monuments.  A great place to begin research on Roman topics.

Villa of the Mysteries A detailed analysis of the paintings of the Villa of the Mysteries and their meaning--an initiation rite.  Excellent photographs.  By James Jackson.

The Glory of Byzantium A web site designed to accompany the exhibition, The Glory of Byzantium, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the spring and summer of 1997.  Contains images of artworks in the Met, historical summaries, and more. 
The Constantinople Home Page A web site dealing with the City of Constantinople (Istanbul).  It contains information about many monuments in the city, current archaeology and conservation.  Professor Robert Osterhout, University of Illinois.
The Hagia Sophia Part of a website maintained by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople on Orthodox Christian churches and monasteries.
