Summer Day Camp

The CCCC program practices a philosophy of emergent curriculum, based on the interests of the children, their teachers, and each child’s developmental level. We encourage input from parents and the College community.

The following are illustrative program goals:

- To encourage language development
- To provide opportunities for positive social learning
- To build feelings of trust
- To enhance the child’s self-esteem, encourage independence, confidence, and competence
- To introduce structure and organization while promoting self-expression and creativity
- To foster healthy habits, such as eating well and getting physical exercise
- To expose children to varied experiences
- To encourage children to express and understand their feelings and those of others
- To appreciate and participate in creative activities such as drama, literature, art, dance and other areas of cognitive development
