Cares -- A Day of Community Service at Vida Verde
  
Come
on out to this beautiful youth camp and spend a couple hours working
on some projects to improve the program while catching up and connecting
with fellow CC alumni and parents.
Students who have been admitted to CC from the San Francisco area will also attend.

Projects begin at 10 a.m. There will be different tasks (light to
heavy duty) to choose from.
Please arrive early for coffee & bagels and to get situated!
We plan to work until around 1 p.m., then we'll serve yummy sandwiches
on homemade bread. After, take a walk in the redwoods or spend some
time at the beach nearby, etc.
What is Vida Verde?
Vida
Verde is a nonprofit, founded by CC grads Shawn and Laura Sears
in 2001. Vida Verde promotes educational equity by providing free,
overnight, environmental learning experiences for students who don't
otherwise get the opportunity.
  
What
to bring
Wear clothes that can get dirty and sturdy shoes. Bring
work gloves if you have them.

Directions to Optomist Youth Camp, NEW home of Vida Verde, 5360
La Honda Road, San Gregorio (just over 1 hour from San Francisco).
-Travel west on HWY 92 to Hwy 1 in Half Moon Bay.
-L onto HWY 1 and go south 11 miles
-L onto HWY 84 towards San Gregorio and travel east for 5.3 miles
-Look for a yellow sign on the right that says "Optimist Youth Center"
-Turn right at driveway immediately after sign, follow driveway
down hill and across narrow bridge until you see a gravel parking
lot
