David C. Hendrickson, CC professor and alumnus, will speak on the state of U.S. foreign policy, with particular emphasis on the Bush administration's national security strategy and the war in Iraq. Hendrickson, a professor since 1983, chaired the political science department from 2000 to 2003 and was recently appointed as Robert J. Fox all-college professor. He is the author of six books, including "Peace Pact: The Lost World of the American Founding,"which was named an outstanding academic title by Choice magazine in 2003. Recent essays inclue "A Dissenter's Guide to Foreign Policy" and "Toward Universal Empire: The Dangerous Quest for Absolute Security." He is finishing a new book called "The Great Reversal: America's Tragic Journey from Federal Union to Universal Empire, 1776-2004." |
