WHEN and WHERE:
July 18-19, 2008. The registration dinner will take place at Bemis Hall
on the CC campus, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18.
Competition begins on Washburn football field at 8:00 a.m. on July 19.
WHO:
To
be eligible, participants must have played for Horst Richardson between
1966 and 2000 or for Andre Zarb-Cousin at any time.
WHY:
Because Horst has a record of 483-260-57 and the guys who helped accomplish
this should get together for a weekend. Although Horst has retired from
teaching German at CC, he still coaches the men's soccer team. Horst
recently returned from a trip to Nepal, where he donated materials to
a school founded by Sir Edmund Hillary.
Andre scored 33 goals for CC in 1970, including a school record of eight
goals in a single game. Opposing defenders are thankful that Andre doesn't
play competitively any more, but the Senior Olympians who face him at
the starting line for the 100- and 200-meter races wish he still played
soccer instead. When he's not on the track, Andre currently funnels
his passion into the Youth Transformation Center in Colorado Springs.
