Peter Blasenheim is Professor of History, Director of the Writing Program, and Co-Chair of the Spanish Department. Blasenheim received his B.A. in 1968 from City College of the City University of New York; his M.A. in 1969 from Stanford University; and his Ph.D. in 1982 from Stanford University. He was a 1971-73 Fulbright Scholar; A.E. and Ethel Irene Carleton Professor; 2003-04; and a William R. Hochman Professor of History, 2004.

Susan Ashley is Dean of the College and Dean of the Faculty. The Professor of History started teaching at CC in 1970, the year the Block Plan began. She was appointed the Dean of the College and Dean of the Faculty in 2005 making her the first woman to hold this post in the college's 135-year history. Ashley received her B.A. summa cum laude in 1965 from Carleton College; her M.A. in 1967 from Columbia University and a certificate in area studies from the European Institute the same year; and her Ph.d. in 1973 from Columbia University. Ashley chaired CC's history department from 1988 to 1997.
