Colorado College
will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Shove Memorial Chapel and the
Shove Chapel pipe organ with a gala ceremony and concert featuring distinguished
organists of the Pikes Peak region.
Frank
Shelton '73, Carol Wilson, Ed Ladaceur, Joe Galema, Colleen Peterson
and CC student Tom Johnson '09 will perform music designed to display
the brilliant resonance of the nationally recognized and historic pipe
organ.
Remarks by CC President
Richard Celeste; Professor Tim Fuller, editor of “This Glorious
and Transcendant Place”; and College Chaplain Bruce Coriell will
laud the remarkable legacy of the dignified Romanesque cathedral that
towers above other campus structures.
A reading of the
original dedication ceremony will cap the celebration.
Reception following
on the north lawn.
