Women's Softball Update
CC drops pair to Hendrix College
The Colorado College offense struggled against Hendrix College, dropping both ends of a doubleheader by the scores of 6-2 and 3-2.
In the first game, CC trailed 3-2 after one inning despite not getting a hit. The Tigers took advantage of two walks, one hit batter, and three wild pitches by Hendrix pitcher Sarah Hightower. The freshman settled down after that, allowing the Tigers just four hits and two walks the rest of the way.
Despite squandering several scoring chances, CC's deficit was only 4-2 after five innings. But the Warriors added two insurance runs in the sixth to put the game away.
Freshman Sandy Corliss reached base three times without a hit for the Tigers, with two walks and a hit-by-pitch, and she and Alexa Calderon scored the CC runs.
In the second game, junior Sirina Milsap struck out eight Warriors and gave up just two earned runs, but a three-run third inning was enough for Hendrix to hold on for the win.
