Exhibit: "Phylum": Lane Hall and Lisa Moline
The public is invited to a preview reception for "Phylum," the first exhibition in the I.D.E.A. Space in the new Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center. Art and science collide in "Phylum," a video installation created by CC alumni Lane Hall '78 and Lisa Moline '78. The installation explores issues of scale, representation and the mapping of knowledge. Composed of connected fragments, the installation inverts relationships between microcosm and macrocosm. Through humor, direction and misdirection, "Phylum" is a study in how one seeks narrative sense through scientific visualization, and how the results are often ambiguous, tenuous and poetic. >>
