Mission Statement
The main purpose of the class officer program is to promote a common sense of unity as a class through class events, camaraderie, programs and activities in the hope that class cohesiveness will lead to a strong connection to the college after graduation.
Each class will hold a mandatory meeting once a block, along with a full class officer meeting (including all the officers) once a block with appropriate advisor present. Other meetings will be scheduled as necessary depending on upcoming events and projects each class is working on.
The President is responsible for running class meetings and overseeing the implementations of all events. The President will be expected to give speeches, meet with the President of the college on occasion, along with acting as leader for the class.
The Vice President will act as President in the absence of the Class President. The Senior Class VP will chair the SYE committee and implement all SYE events. The VP may be required to give some speeches, attend additional meetings, and send correspondence to the class and college for various reasons. The VP will be class representative to CCSGA and hold a voting position on the board, along with planning major class officer events.
The Public Relations/Communications Officer is responsible for all publicity and inter- and intra- campus communications, along with correspondence. The Public Relations/Communications Officer keeps all records and makes note of all important decisions and rulings by the Class Officers.
The Finance and Web Designer is responsible for the class budget and website. The Finance and Web Designer will make sure that the class never exceeds their annual allotted funds, keep up-to-date records, and always keep the group informed about the budget. No web design knowledge is required, but you will be expected to learn basic concepts in order to maintain the class website. We will provide all necessary training.
