Class Officer Election and Campaign Rules and Regulations
Colorado College Class Officers for the academic year 2008-2009
- Negative campaigning is prohibited . To avoid breaking this rule, make positive statements concerning your own campaign and refrain from making any references whatsoever to other campaigns.
- Breaking policies of the Colorado College for the sake of your campaign is prohibited. It is your responsibility to know and stay within the guidelines set by the school. Be aware that chalk is not allowed on buildings or anywhere that it will not naturally be washed away, that the school has specific rules concerning the use of computing services, that the residential life staff have policies about hanging up posters and flyers in the dorms and about disturbing residents, and that breaking school policies could have consequences beyond those associated with the Class Officer election.
- The person who receives the largest quantity of votes for any office wins. There are no run-offs and you do not need more than 50% of the vote to be elected.
IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES
- Sunday, March 22, after 3 PM: Campaigning materials can go up on campus.
- Monday, March 23, 8 AM: Online elections begin. Students from each of the appropriate classes may access the ballots through the Class Officer website by clicking on VOTE HERE. E-mails will be sent to each class with a direct link to their class ballot Monday morning as well. Links to vote will also be available on the Student digest.
- Wednesday, March 25, NOON: Depending on the % of class votes as of Tuesday at 5 PM, Kelly (advisor) will decide whether or not it is necessary to do in person voting in Worner until Friday. You will receive an e-mail with her decision Tuesday evening.
- Friday, March 37, 1 PM: Voting ends. No votes submitted after this time will be counted. Campaigning materials must be taken down by 3 PM today.
