City Champions volunteers constitute a network of talented and energetic representatives reaching well beyond campus boundaries who play an integral role in helping the college strengthen and sustain its Vision 2010 goals. In addition to hosting social gatherings for alumni, parents, and students, City Champions help increase the visibility of the college in their area, serve as connectors to their communities by assisting the college with student recruitment, identifying internship and career opportunities, annual giving and Achieving the Vision. ----- The City Champions program is born of Vision 2010 and incorporated with the college's Mission & Core Values. Where does CC want to be in 2010? What is a Vision 2010 Campus? Click here to watch video updates from CC's President, Richard F. Celeste and Vice President for Advancement, Steve Elder. So, how do we get there? The bottom line is CC alumni and parents are very passionate about this institution people give to their passion. City Champions volunteers come together to help alumni and parents in their local regions find ways to give back to CC. It's about commensurate giving and that means something different for everyone! Whether it's through building relationships/volunteering with our alumni and parent events, annual giving, or through estate planning all alumni can play a part. Pick Your Passion and Donate to a CC Project!
City Champions Coordinators help their cities alumni and parents pick their passion by focusing on goals for prospective student recruitment, internship and career opportunity and annual giving. Why not ask at the next large alumni/parent to increase the number of volunteers and where they want to narrow their focus? Specific dollars raised in your area could name a space in the new Edith Gaylord Kinney Cornerstone Arts Center or endow a scholarship, provide financial aid, or simply by pizza for your next event! City Champs can help raise awareness about the importance of giving. Launch city-to-city participation challenges, as Denver and Colorado Springs alumni have undertaken! Find donors willing to create a matching gift initiative! Identify affinity groups with a passion and engage them in efforts to increase participation! Help with reunion fundraising! Remember, gifts of any size matter NOW more than ever! The end result is a Vision 2010 campus for which all alumni and parents can be proud to say "We helped create the vision!"
A generous 57 percent of CC alumni have given to the Achieving Our Vision campaign since it began. If that many alumni gave every year, we’d almost have the alumni giving rate of 60 percent to which we aspired with our Vision 2010 goals. The truth is, the alumni giving rate, which usually hovers around 30 percent, has dropped significantly this past year. CC's annual giving staff encourage alumni, parents and friends to make a commensurate investment in CC annually and to invite others to do the same! |
