An official headcount is needed so that further instructions can be emailed to those who plan to attend.

The Food Bank depends on volunteers so please join us. They distribute more than 15 million pounds of food a year to more than 370 partner agencies - soup kitchens, family crisis centers, church food pantries, hospices, day care centers and more - that serve the hungriest people in the Austin community.

Community service projects will involve cleaning, repairing, painting, and decorating at various sites
including Care & Share and The Pikes Peak Humane Society.

Wear work clothes. Other supplies will be provided. Space is limited.

We will be helping the American Cancer Society distribute posters to raise awareness about their upcoming grass roots Relay for Life event. Kids are welcome. We will split into teams and canvass a neighborhood, asking shop and restaurant proprietors to post flyers and posters advertising the event. There will be prizes for the most materials distributed and we will all meet up at a local pub at the end, to award prizes and share the events of the day with the American Cancer Society staff. Everyone should dress comfortably and all materials will be provided. Backpacks will be helpful, so if you have one, please bring it.

We will meet at the 4th Avenue and 59th Street M and R Subway stop in Sunset Park, Brooklyn at 1 p.m., when assignments and materials will be distributed immediately to each pair of volunteers as they arrive.
We will all wind our way north towards nearby Park Slope, Brooklyn
where will will meet up at a local bar at 4 p.m., the exact name and location TBA.


Salt Lake City

we will gather to help 'spruce-up' the yards of senior citizens and persons with disabilities in our area.

From there we'll drive to our assigned neighborhood and help with trimming,
raking and other light yard work. At 1 p.m. we'll gather for a Dutch treat lunch
at The Bakery, 250 South 300 E.

Come out to the wonderful & secluded retreat center and spend a couple hours working to improve this site for our nature education programs for low-income students. Many different tasks to choose from! After, take a guided hike in the redwoods, swim in the pool, soak in the hot tub, and participate in a possible honeybee presentation.

Please arrive on time, and please eat lunch before coming
(Duarte’s in Pescadero has nationally known soup and pie 650-879-0464).
Kid friendly/family event! Wear work clothes & good shoes. Bring gloves & gardening tools, if possible. Don’t forget your swimsuit/towel! No dogs please. After work, full kitchen available for use - byob.

(just over 1 hour from San Francisco without traffic).
-Travel west on HWY 92 to Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay.
-Left onto HWY 1 and go south 15.5 miles to Pescadero Road. (about 3 miles after Pomponio State Beach).
-Left onto Pescadero Road and go 2 miles to the town of Pescadero.
-Continue on Pescadero Road past the town another 1/2 mile to Cloverdale Road.
-Right onto Cloverdale Road and go 3.1 miles to Eden West Road.
(it's a small road just before Canyon Road).
-Left onto Eden West and go 1/4 mile to the entrance of Venture Retreat Center.

Interested in making a difference? Come to Discovery Park and help clean up the beach.
There are two miles of beach that gets trashed (literally) during the winter months.
They would love to have your help in cleaning up.

Volunteers must be 8 years old or older to participate.
All gloves, tools and transportation down to the beach will be provided.
Please meet at the Discovery Park Visitor's Center
at 3801 W Government Way in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle.
