| GRESHAM RILEY AWARD RECIPIENT 2004 |
Bruce Coriell
Bruce came to CC in 1988 to serve as chaplain. In that
role, Bruce has expanded the College’s (and, really, the entire
city’s) commitment to, and focus on, community service. He
has strengthened relationships between CC students and religious
and spiritual organizations in the local community. In addition
to being Chaplain, Bruce also teaches Religion, offering inter-faith
and spiritual exploration courses such as Wilderness and Spirit
(a combination of Baca-based work, classroom work, and intense backpacking
through Colorado wilderness), and Religious Community Life, Shamanism,
and the international course "Listening to Country: Learning
in Aboriginal Australia."
