Colorado College History Links

There are a number of historical links on our pages including a brief history of the college, a historic walking tour, a history of Colorado College's presidents, and information and photos about the recent history restoration of CC's first building, Cutler Hall. The college's Tutt Library's Special Collections and Archives also has online other historical records related to the college -- including text of the 1874 Colorado College Charter.

A banner program on campus commemorates the 125th -- see a recent Access story for more details.  During the first part of 1999, banners are also on the street poles in downtown Colorado Springs.

Victor Greto, a 1987 Colorado College graduate and manager of the research center at the Gazette, recently wrote a four-part series on the end of the 19th century in Colorado Springs seen through the diaries of various townspeople. The material for the second article, "Pages of the past: Helen Banfield Jackson," can be found in CC's Special Collections and Archives. The third installment, "Pages from the past: Rose Coolidge Heinicke," chronicles the life and times of a 1936 Colorado College alumna.

The Old Colorado City Historical Historical Society has an excellent site, including a large collection of historical photos from the entire state.
